This midcentury ring features a very light fancy yellow diamond with high grade clarity of VVS2. It's very clean and bright! There are 8 equally clean baguette diamonds on each side, sweeping down the elegant sides as the bypass each other on the way to the lovely center, hence the style's name "bypass ring." Stamped "MW2" for "Montgomery Ward grade 2," and ".72" for .72 total carats of diamonds. Stamped "14KP." Many people mistakenly assumed the �P� in 14KP means �plated� but that�s not correct. Quite the opposite, the �P� means �plumb�/calibrated therefore it means �14-karat-plumb� because pre-1976 exact gold content in the USA was less regulated so "KP" was a manufacturer�s assurance that the solid gold was plumbed/calibrated to contain the full 14K versus, say, only 13K. This is a well made ring that sits nice and high above the finger to let in maximum light and sparkle. There's an elegant flair and motion to this ring's style.
